Helm and cuisses the rest are either drops aside from the plate i've found, farmed (TT) or bought. Take a good look at how they all add to my stats. Also the only gems you should be sockecting your Eqs with beside your weapon is HP shards.

For the weapon there's only 3 things to consider. Physical attack, magic attack and accuracy shards. Unless you're somehow rich enough to afford a shard that can add say 100+(Perfect World Gold) or more, it wont really matter between the 3.

I tend to stick to magic shards as I use mage form to grind, also the weapon will sell better to other classes when i'm done with it.

So far fully buffed I can gain 16.9k physical defense and 3-3.5ks on Mdef in full heavy armour, fox form. Not too bad right.
Considering the idea of this build is taking advantage of the insane defense gained from fox form, i'm personally going sage as the 89 cultivation for the 150% phys def gain and 250% accuracy gain on fox form. (And for adds on other skills)

The cultivation should be entirely based on your own play style however, I know another veno following the same build who is going demon, but for pve purposes. After level 70(PW power leveling), the next best weapon I have in mind is the level 89 Requiem blade mold as it adds +10-11 dex +10-11 vit and +10-11 magic.
